Belitung Indonesia 5D4N Belitung is an Indonesian island east of Sumatra and is still free from touristy crowd. The  best time to go to  Bangka- Belitung  is during the months of February and March , as well as October and November . These months are  ideal  for enjoying the beaches because the wind and the waves are low during this  time . Dry season(April - October) is sunnier but can be windy resulting in choppy water.   Transport in Belitung We  contacted Street Taxi  directly (contact: +62 822-8301-5555) via whatapps few days before we reach Belitung for airport transport . It is the only licensed taxi service on the island and is much more cheaper than airport taxi. Price for 2 ways airport transport are RM50.   * Since we do not have local sim card. We used the free wifi provided by hotel/ restaurants to call for Grab/ Street Taxi to travel around the island.          Tanjung Tualang Dredge No. 5(TT5) was the last remaining dredge in Malaysia. It weighs 4,500 tons and is supported by a pontoon of 75 meters in length, 35 meters in width and 3 meters in depth. It was built in England in 1938 and in operation for 44 years until 1982 when the industry was in rapid decline due to low tin prices and high operating cost. All the other dredges in the area were being sold off for its high metal value but TT5 was successfully saved, preserved and restored.       The place was run by experienced guide. The tour itself lasted for around 30 minutes could accommodate up to 20 persons. The visit there was truly an eye-opener as we got the opportunity to get up close and personal with something we always read from history books. After the tour you can wander around the lake where the dredge is sited.         Rainbow Waterfall Iconic big tree Charming old town Sungai Lembing  is a tin mining town in Kuantan district, Pahang. It is about  3 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur  (267.8 km). Sungai Lembing town developed in the 1880s when the British set up the tin mining industry. The pit mines were closed in 1986 due to high operational costs and low yields.  During their heyday, they were among the largest and deepest in the world. The total tunnel length is 322 km, with a depth of between 610 m and 700 m. Today the town of Sg Lembing is in decline although it was once the richest town in Pahang, known as El Dorado of the East. In the 1940s, about 1400  people worked in the mine. Today many of the wooden shoplots are closed and people are moving away. The town straddles the river, and the main street on the right bank is split by majestic trees.
